Our candles are made from vegan soy and soy blend waxes, complemented with lead-free wicks made to deliver optimum performance from tunnelling. It is important to practice safe burning to ensure you enjoy your MP candles.

First Use / Memory Setting

During the first use of your candle, allow the wax pool to fill the jar diameter. This process is called memory setting and typically takes 3-4 hours, depending on the size of the vessel. This step will also prevent tunnelling in your wax.

Wick Trimming

Always trim your wick before each use. A short wick gives a cleaner flame and an even burn. Whilst a long wick can cause smoking. Your wick should be no longer than 5mm at all times. A trimmed wick creates a steady and calm flame, making the candle's burning process balanced.

Draughts

Candles burn best in still air with no active movements. Too much activity will disturb the flame and may cause the candle to start flickering and smoking. To avoid this, always burn your candle in a well-ventilated room away from drafts. Should draughts be unavoidable, place the candle in a candle holder to protect it from movements, and turn the candle periodically to avoid uneven burning.

Burn Time

To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time, do not exceed more than 1 hour during the last remaining wax in the vessel. Always allow the wax to solidify before igniting.

Extinguishing

While blowing out the flame is effective, it is best to use a candle snuffer to reduce the smoke and soot, as well as disrupt the candle's fragrance during burning. See the MP Candle Snuffer for properly extinguishing your candle.

Safe Practices

-Never leave the candle unattended

-When in use, keep away from children, pets and curtains

-Always protect the table or surface on which the candle rests. See the MP Leather Coaster for a non-slip base while protecting your table surface.
